Full dentures are typically the most recognizable form of dentures. This method of restorative dentistry is used to replace an entire top or bottom row of teeth. Your prosthesis will be composed of a gum-colored acrylic base with false teeth attached to it. The teeth are made of porcelain, which is extremely durable. Full dentures are secured to the gumline with a dental adhesive.

For those with some teeth remaining in their gumline, partial dentures can be used to fill the space left behind by missing teeth. Partial dentures are also composed of an acrylic base with false teeth, but they have metal clips to attach to the surrounding teeth. Porcelain material is especially important in partial dentures as it can be made to match the exact shade of your natural teeth.

If you are deciding between dentures and implants, implant-supported dentures may be a great choice for you. We can place as few as four implants on an arch and create a custom full denture that will replace all of the top teeth, bottom teeth, or both. These dentures easily snap onto implants that are implanted into the jawbone, making them incredibly stable. Patients find that eating, speaking, and smiling with confidence is easy with implant-supported dentures.

There are several reasons patients are turning to dentures for their restorative dentistry needs. The most notable benefits include:

  • Boosts your self confidence
  • Improves eating & speaking capabilites
  • Last up to 15 years with proper care
  • Supports facial structure

Dentures FAQs

How are dentures made?

Dentures are made over a series of appointments. We will take several impressions and send them to an offsite lab where they will create preliminary molds of your dentures. These molds will be shaped and altered to conform to your gumline perfectly before a final denture is cast.

How much do dentures cost?

Here, we do everything we can to offer affordable dentures to the Tucson community. We accept a variety of payment methods and we’re insurance friendly. For our uninsured patients, we also offer two levels of in-house membership plans.

How should I care for my dentures?

Once your dentures are in place, we’ll provide you with detailed at-home instructions to increase their lifespan. A few of the most important include daily brushing, removing them after each meal, and soaking them at night.
