How does the Invisalign process work?

If you are interested in utilizing Invisalign to achieve a straighter smile, our team will schedule a consultation for you so we can go over your treatment plan and budget. Digital impressions will need to be taken so that your first set of aligners can be created, and they should be ready in a few weeks. Once you receive your first set of aligners, it will be up to you to wear them as often as possible, or at least 20 to 22 hours per day, ideally. Occasional appointments will need to be scheduled so we can assess your smile and provide you with your next set of clear aligners.

Is Invisalign painful?

Invisalign clear aligners shift teeth quickly and efficiently, so patients can expect to feel some soreness and discomfort when they first begin wearing aligners and occasionally when they switch to a new set of aligners as well. While it’s not the most fun experience, that’s how you know that your aligners are working! Stocking up on things like over-the-counter pain medication, dental wax, and cold treats like popsicles can come in handy after you begin wearing your clear aligners to help relieve some of the soreness that you may experience.

Am I a good candidate for Invisalign?

Patients who are looking to undergo orthodontic treatment should have relatively healthy teeth and gums and take care of any restorative work that they need before receiving clear aligners if possible. Clear aligner therapy also requires responsibility on the part of the patient to keep track of their clear aligners and wear them often enough, otherwise, their treatment plan can be thrown off track. The best way to determine if Invisalign is right for you and your lifestyle is by scheduling a consultation with our team, and we’ll be happy to assist you.
