Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays are a modern imaging technique that uses digital sensors to capture detailed images of your teeth, gums, and surrounding structures. Unlike traditional X-rays that rely on film, digital X-rays produce immediate, high-resolution images that can be viewed on a computer screen. This allows our dental team to quickly and efficiently diagnose a wide range of dental conditions.
- Digital X-rays provide superior image quality with greater detail and clarity compared to traditional X-rays. This allows for more accurate diagnosis and treatment planning, helping to identify issues such as cavities, bone loss, and impacted teeth with precision.
- Safety is a top priority at Artistic Dentistry. Digital X-rays significantly reduce radiation exposure—by up to 90%—compared to conventional X-ray methods. This makes them a safer option for patients, especially those who require multiple X-rays over time.
- With digital X-rays, images are instantly available for review. This means no waiting for film to develop, allowing our dental team to discuss findings and treatment options with you right away. Quicker results lead to more efficient appointments and faster decision-making.
- Digital X-rays eliminate the need for chemical processing and film, making them a more eco-friendly option. This reduction in waste aligns with our commitment to sustainable and responsible dental practices.
- The digital format of these X-rays allows us to easily share the images with you, helping you to better understand your dental health. We can zoom in, highlight areas of concern, and explain treatment options more clearly, fostering better patient education and involvement in the treatment process.
- Digital X-rays are stored electronically, which simplifies record-keeping and retrieval. This not only streamlines our workflow but also ensures that your dental history is securely maintained and easily accessible for future reference.
At Artistic Dentistry, we are committed to using advanced technology to provide you with the highest standard of care. Digital X-rays are just one example of how we enhance the diagnostic process to ensure accurate, safe, and effective treatment. Whether you’re coming in for a routine check-up or addressing a specific dental concern, our digital X-ray technology helps us deliver exceptional care and optimal results.
CBCT Scans
At our office, we are committed to utilizing advanced dental technology to always provide you with the highest level of dental care. We are proud to utilize cone beam 3D imaging technology at our practice. Cone beam 3D technology is an imaging system that provides our dentists and team with a three-dimensional image reconstruction of your teeth, mouth, jaw, neck, ears, nose and throat. We may use dental cone beam 3D imaging to:
- Plan dental implant placement
- Evaluate the jaws and face
- View the head and neck as a comprehensive whole
- Diagnose tooth decay (cavities) and other dental problems
- Detect endodontic problems and plan root canal therapy
- Analyze dental and facial trauma
- Plan and evaluate the progress of orthodontic treatment
- Visualize abnormal teeth
- Assess a TMJ disorder
Cone beam 3D imaging is effective for diagnosing and evaluating dental conditions, as well as planning treatments. One of the advantages of 3D cone beam technology is that it provides our dentists and team with a view of your mouth and supporting structures that is more comprehensive than that provided by digital X-rays.
Digital Impressions
Digital impressions use sophisticated scanning technology to create accurate 3D images of your teeth and gums. Unlike conventional impressions that require the use of messy, uncomfortable putty, digital impressions capture detailed data using a small, handheld scanner. These digital models are then used to design and fabricate dental restorations such as crowns, bridges, veneers, and orthodontic appliances with unparalleled precision.
- Digital impressions provide highly accurate and detailed representations of your oral structures. This level of precision ensures that restorations fit perfectly, reducing the need for adjustments and ensuring optimal function and aesthetics.
- Traditional impression methods can be uncomfortable and even cause gagging for some patients. Digital impressions eliminate the need for putty, making the process more comfortable and less invasive. The scanning procedure is quick and minimally disruptive.
- The digital nature of these impressions means that they can be sent to the lab instantly, significantly speeding up the treatment process. This reduces the waiting time for dental restorations, allowing you to enjoy the benefits of your new smile sooner.
- Digital impressions reduce waste by eliminating the need for disposable impression materials and shipping. This aligns with our commitment to environmentally responsible practices and helps us reduce our ecological footprint.
- The digital scans can be easily displayed on a computer screen, enabling our dental team to show you exactly what’s happening in your mouth. This visual aid enhances your understanding of your treatment plan and allows for more informed decision-making.
- Digital impressions offer consistent quality and reliability, minimizing the risk of errors associated with traditional impression methods. This ensures that every restoration is crafted to the highest standards, providing long-lasting results.
- Digital impressions seamlessly integrate with other advanced dental technologies, such as CAD/CAM systems, to facilitate the design and fabrication of custom restorations. This streamlined workflow enhances the overall efficiency and effectiveness of your treatment.
Digital impressions are an integral part of our commitment to enhancing patient comfort, improving treatment outcomes, and delivering exceptional service. Whether you’re getting a crown, bridge, or any other dental restoration, our digital impression technology ensures a precise, comfortable, and efficient experience.

In-House Lab
Our office is proud to feature an in-house dental lab. Having a lab in our practice enables our dentists and team to create crowns, bridges, dentures and other oral prosthetics and appliances on-premises, rather than contracting with an outside dental lab to complete your restoration. This allows us to ensure that each restoration or appliance we create is of the highest quality while reducing your waiting time between appointments.
- Benefits of having our in-house dental lab include:
- Complete quality control, so that we can better ensure that your treatment will provide you with an excellent solution for your smile.
- The ability to minimize the time you go without a solution to your smile or have to live with missing teeth.
- Creating crowns, bridges, dentures and oral appliances in significantly less time than usual.
- Providing all your treatments in-house. We rarely refer our patients to other dentists or specialists, as we can provide all your care in a single location.
We welcome you to call our office today to learn more about our on-site dental lab and the advantages it provides you. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have and help you request an appointment with our experienced dentists. We look forward to helping you care for your smile!
