What Are Dental Implants?
A dental implant is a small biocompatible titanium post that goes into your jawbone and mimics a natural tooth’s root. The implant fuses to your bone to create a strong foundation for a natural-looking tooth restoration that we attach on top.
The Dental Implant Process
Before we begin your implant process, we use state-of-the-art 3D software to design and plan your treatment from beginning to end. If you’ve been missing teeth for an extended period of time, you may have bone loss in the area and need a bone graft to strengthen your jaw before we can move forward with the implant placement.
Once your jawbone is healthy and strong, we’ll surgically place the implants into their ideal positions and give them time to fuse with your jaw. When the implants are healed, we’ll attach either a dental crown (for single-tooth replacement), implant-supported bridge (for single or multi-tooth replacement), or an implant-supported denture (for full or partial arch replacement).
Benefits of Dental Implants
Dental implants are a popular method for tooth replacement among patients and dentists alike. Compared to other tooth replacement options, dental implants offer an array of benefits, including:
• Appearance & Functionality. Implants look, feel, and function like your natural teeth so most people won’t be able to tell the difference between your implants and your other teeth.
• Durability. With great care, a proper dental hygiene routine, and regular visits to the dentist, your implants can last a lifetime.
• Easy Maintenance. There’s no special maintenance required for implants. You can brush, floss, and eat normally.
• Reliability. Since dental implants fuse with your jawbone, they won’t slip, click, or fall out, and you won’t have to deal with messy adhesives.
